Britty

Here's Britty (in the middle) at dance team practice. I can't believe she's a freshman now. It makes me feel old to say my baby is in high school!

Pictures

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks. I am still working on getting the video uploaded. I want to remove the personal information before I put it on the blog. Our friend John is helping me with that because that is way beyond my skills. Here you go enjoy!

This is Jen at 25 weeks.

Vacation pictures from Sunset Beach North Carolina

This is the best image of Andrew we could get. You really have to study it to see him. If you look at the center of the picture you can see a profile of him. You can see a little nose and lips peeking out between everything else.

Here is a very good picture of Madison with her hand up by her face. Everyone says she has my nose.

Dad's heart surgery

Dad had his heart surgery on Monday the 16th. He had a double bypass and a valve replacement. He did great and was able to come home on the 22nd, which is sooner than we expected. The doctors said it went very well. He's sounding better each time I talk to him. Rodney is down there with him, cooking & taking care of things while dad recovers.

Graduation

I was just wondering who we have graduating this year. My son Brian will graduate from high school in May. I know there's a lot of kids his age in the family. If anyone has a student graduating this year, please post a picture.

Baby's A's quilt is done

Here are some pictures of the quilt for "baby A" after I put it through the washer & dryer.

Baby Quilt

I'm learning how to quilt, since Brian bought me a sewing machine for my birthday last year. I am working on a denim quilt, but once I found out that Dawn & Mike are expecting I set that quilt aside and started looking for a pattern for a baby quilt. One day while I was dragging Bonnie (daughter, not sister) around to fabric stores, we found a sample of a flannel rag quilt for a baby. We both agreed it would be perfect and it looked easy, so I started searching for fabric and instructions for the quilt. Luckily we found out before I bought all my fabric that I needed enough for two quilts, since Dawn & Mike will be having twins!
These pictures are taken before the quilt has been washed. Once it's put through the washer and dryer, all of the little cuts that I made on the edges will fray to create a fringe.
I have the pattern Granny used to make my star quilt, my hope is that some day I'm a good enough quilter to use her pattern to make a quilt. It amazes me that she did all of her quilting by hand, and the stitches were so perfect. I don't think I'll ever be able to do that, but I'm happy to be learning on a sewing machine.
